Hospitals on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic face an unprecedented challenge. The spread of coronavirus has put them in charge of the immediate care of thousands of new cases, even as their doctors and researchers are still learning more about the nature of the disease. Their mission is made more complicated by the shortage of personal protective equipment, supplies that have never been more necessary in the protection of their patients and themselves.
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is in an especially unusual position among hospitals coping with the COVID-19 pandemic. While the Boston facility’s researchers continue to work in developing a vaccine for the coronavirus, their doctors, nurses, and medical practitioners are taking care of hundreds of patients who are suffering from its symptoms. Like many other American hospitals, the staff of Beth Israel Deaconess has struggled with the PPE supplies they need to stem the transmission of COVID-19 among themselves and their patients.
DocPPE is helping Beth Israel Deaconess’s employees provide comprehensive and safe care, as they continue to both treat COVID-19 patients and seek a cure. We’ve donated 250 masks to their doctors, nurses, and staff to help them through this intensely demanding time. It’s our hope this donation will help Beth Israel Deaconess maintain the level of safety against transmission of COVID-19 among themselves and their patients.
Our medical centers are amid a pandemic that hasn’t been encountered in several generations. Institutions like Beth Israel Deaconess are fighting coronavirus on multiple fronts, as they tirelessly fight to stop the current spread and work toward an eventual solution for the future.
DocPPE believes they need all the support they can get. That’s why we’re donating 10 masks to organizations like Beth Israel Deaconess for every 50 masks purchased from DocPPE. As hospitals and medical centers face increasingly difficult tasks, we hope to make parts of them easier.
